2012 CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS 28th April 2012
Balmoral Club created history at Forster by taking out the overall NSW Club Champions Title for 2012. Balmoral Club President, Josh Burns, was literally shaking with anticipation as the top 4 Presidents stood on stage in front of a crowd of over 1000 people at Club Forster as Matt Harris started to announce the overall results. After 17 years of trying, the Balmoral Club erupted as they were announced as overall winners, breaking the domination of Warringah, who claimed 2nd, and Cronulla who came in 4th, behind a resurgent Hills Club in 3rd.
Coffs Harbour were announced as Country Club winners and 5th overall followed by Port Macquarie who were the 2nd Country Club and 6th overall. These 2 country clubs are now starting to seriously challenge the city clubs for overall honours.
Congratulations to Coogee who took out Division 2 for medium size clubs and Northern Suburbs who took out Division 3 for small clubs.
Thanks to all 700 plus competitors, the 140 volunteers and Technical Officials and the hundreds of supporters who made the journey to Forster to cement the event as arguably the best Triathlon Community event in Australia, where all race for their Club rather than individual success. Those who think Triathlon is not a team sport, have not been to a NSW Club Champs.
Thanks also to the Great Lakes Council and Forster Community who allowed us to enjoy their fabulous facilities and welcomed the states triathlon community into their home.

Whether you are a novice or a seasoned athlete, young or old, male or female, an elite or a recreational athlete, triathlon and multisport, of which Triathlon NSW is the peak body in NSW, is one of the few individual sports that allow us all to participate and compete together.
Whilst improving your fitness and well-being, you can also have fun, and make the most of the great social environment and camaraderie that this fantastic sport offers.
Triathlon is a sport comprising of swimming, cycling and running as the three disciplines making up the base format. Duathlon combines cycling and running, whilst Aquathlon combines swimming and running.
Triathlon and multisport are all unique as ‘one sport’. Like Athletics, Triathlon, Duathlon and Aquathlon can be competed over a number of distances, so whether you are 7 or 70+years old there is an event out there for you.
TriNSW currently maintains and conducts a number of Association events. These include the TriNSW TriShave Sydney Triathlon Series - Kurnell, comprising four events annually.
Other key focus events are the TriShave Women’s Festivals (which will boast two dates in the 2010/2011 season) and the TriNSW season reaches a finale, with the TriNSW Club Championships, held each May.
Many club and independent organisers also organise an amazing array of events around NSW that include, but are not limited to, MTB triathlon and duathlons, aquathlons, road bike duathlons and ’conventional’ triathlons ranging from the beginner oriented BRW Corporate events over very short distances to the truly awesome Ironman Australia held each April in Port Macquarie over a distance of 3.8km swim, 180km ride and 42km run!
There truly is something for everybody at any age in triathlon and multisport in NSW.
Welcome to you all
The TriNSW team.
